Aloha! My name is Donnie and I live in Hawaii…I wanted to tell you a little bit about our beautiful colored sand beaches here on the Big Island. Going to the beach is a big thing in Hawaii, because we are blessed with not only weather consistently gorgeous year round, but also with numerous beautiful beaches on which to enjoy our golden days. Because our Big Island is geologically quite young and the landscape is immature, our beaches tend to be smaller than those on the older islands, and are therefore all the more precious. What the Big Island has that some of the other islands lack, though, are beaches with spectacularly colored sand…white sand, black sand, green sand and even grey sand. Big Island Vacations: Your Rental Options

Are you interested in vacationing on Big Island in Hawaii? If you are, are you also interested in booking a stay at a private vacation rental? If you would like to enjoy your next Hawaii vacation to its fullest extent, you may be. Vacation rentals come highly rated and recommended by tourists, just like you.

If you are interested in booking a stay at a Big Island vacation rental for your next trip to Hawaii, you may be curious as to what your options are. When vacationing on Big Island, you should have hundreds of individual rentals to choose from. Although not required, you may find it much easier to first decide which type of vacation rental you would like to rent. For your convenience four Big Island vacation rental types, that come highly rated and recommended, are outlined below.

1 – Big Island Vacation Homes

Big Island vacation homes are often the preferred method of travel, for tourists visiting Big Island. This is mostly due in part to their size, privacy, and having many of the comforts of home. Although you will find some variations, vacation homes are often stocked full of great features, which may include high speed internet access, cable television, a dishwasher, a laundry room, as well as a private patio or garden area.

When examining Big Island vacation homes, you will find that they come in a number of different sizes, in terms of bedrooms. What does this mean for you? It means that whether you are vacationing alone, with your romantic partner, or with your whole family, you should be able to find a vacation home that is able to accommodate you and your traveling party.

2 – Big Island Villas

Big Island villas are comparable in nature to vacation homes. Often times, you will find them to be larger in size, as well as more elegant or luxurious in nature. In fact, it is common to see Big Island villas referred to as Big Island Hawaii luxury homes. Of course, villa rentals are ideal for all types of travelers, but many recommend them for romantic getaways or honeymoons, due to their elegance and luxury.

As with traditional vacation homes, you will likely find that most Big Island villas are stocked full of amazing features and services. For instance, you are likely to be provided with a dishwasher, private garden or patio area, as well as a hot tub or a swimming pool.

3 – Big Island Condos

Big Island condos are another popular vacation rental optional. Although not as private as most Big Island vacation homes and villas, they are private in their own rite. When renting a Big Island condo, you will find yourself renting a private space, but your space will not be the only one in the building. In a way, Big Island condos are comparable to apartments, but they are often much more elegant and structurally developed when compared.

While Big Island condos do vary, you will find that most give you shared access to community properties and facilities, such as laundry rooms, swimming pools, hot tubs, or garden or patio areas. As with most other Big Island vacation rentals, condo rentals are ideal for all travelers, but they are great, due to their size, for business trips, as well as romantic getaways.

4 – Big Island Vacation Apartment Rentals

As previously stated, Big Island condos are a elegant-like combination of homes and apartments. If you are looking for a similar, but affordable combination, apartment rentals may be right for you. Generally speaking, they are traditional apartments which are made available for tourists to rent. Often times, you will be provided with a fully furnished apartment, cable television and internet access.

If you would like to book a stay at a vacation rental, as opposed to a traditional hotel or vacation resort, but if you are concerned with costs, a vacation apartment rental may be your best option. Although typically small or at least average in size, they are ideal for solo trips or small group vacations.

When vacationing on Big Island, Big Island condos, apartment rentals, villas, and vacation homes are just a few of the many options that you will have. As nice as each of this options are, it is also important to take your other overnight accommodation options into consideration as well. Two of those options include traditional hotels and vacation resorts.

When you are planning your vacation to Maui, you may be wondering whether or not to rent out a condo. On the plus side you get to stay somewhere private where you can do what you like when you like, but on the other hand it can sometimes be expensive.

If you are struggling to decide whether or not to rent a condo, you may want to read on to see the best condo rental services in Maui. This will help to give you a good idea of what is available and it will hopefully help you to make a more informed decision too.

The Best Maui, Hawaii Condo Rentals

If you are beginning your search for a condo rental in Maui, you ideally should have some idea of what you are looking for. You will need to know:

• What your ideal budget is

• How many people will be sleeping there

• The location of the condo

• How long you will be staying for

The location in particular can be important because if you cannot drive then it would be no good renting a condo in the rural parts of Maui. However, if you can drive then you have the choice of going practically wherever you want.

However, the most important aspect of finding a condo rental to suit you is the price. If you want to stay near to local activity and the beaches, it is likely that you will have to pay more for the convenience. So it is better to look around to find something to suit your budget the most.

If you are on a bit of a budget, the Condominium rentals are especially good. They have condos all around Hawaii and you can get ones either on the beach front or in more rural areas. They do particularly good Maui condo rental packages which are really good on your budget. If budget is not a problem, they also offer more luxurious hotel style condo options too.

Hawaii Condo exchange also does some good deals and it provides condos on the Kaanapali coastline as well as in Wailea. Again, you can rent condos either close to the beach and local amenities, or you can rent slightly more rural condos if you would prefer. They have condos to suit all budgets so if you want something a little more luxurious they can cater for it.

Overall, Maui Hawaii condo rentals are quite easy to find. There really is something to suit all budgets and you can choose from a number of locations around Maui to suit your needs. So no matter whether you are looking to relax in the rural parts of Maui, or whether you would prefer to be close to the beach and within walking distance of local amenities, there will always be a Maui condo rental to suit you.

So you’ve finally decided you are going to take your family on that much dreamed of vacation in Hawaii.

Out of the many options on offer, you have decided that a vacation rental is the way for you. A good choice for a family especially as the locations are mostly great, you have the privacy to come and go as you wish, and they are usually pretty economical for what you get.

You’ve chosen Oahu. A good choice. Home to the state capital of Hawaii, Honolulu, Oahu is a place full of tradition and culture, with plenty to see and do. The obvious thing to do now is to google up “Oahu vacation rentals”. WOW, hold on there, over 700,000 results. Just where do you start?

Let’s see if we can help a little here with two of the top secrets that will help you choose your ideal rental.

1: Do use a reservation service. If you start to trawl through individual rental property listings posted by owners it’s going to take you years and be very confusing. You are also going to be very restricted in the dates you can have. Vacation rentals in Hawaii are extremely popular, with many owners reporting a 90% plus occupancy rate. So it could take the aforementioned years to find the dates you want.

Plus, you only have the owners word and their own promotional material on the condition and location of their property. It’s always going to be the best isn’t it? You could be in for a big disappointment.

2: Make sure the reservation service you do use is a good one. Get a recommendation if at all possible. If you can’t do that then make sure that the service is locally owned and operated. These services are going to want to do their best to keep you happy and give you what you want. After all they live there and have to deal with their owners face to face.

Remote websites just do not have the local knowledge to allow you to make an informed choice on a rental that will suit you best, for your individual purposes. For example, you have decided on Oahu, and you also want to take in some whale watching while on vacation. That’s great, but only a local service will tell you that you need to be on the windward side of the Island to be able to do that.

Services that are impersonal, using automated credit card bookings, are less interested in finding out your ideal requirements than taking your cash.

Services that offer you a selection of over 100 properties are also to be avoided. To be honest there just aren’t that many good quality rentals on Oahu, and they are very unlikely to have personally inspected them all and will be relying on the owners description. Not a good situation I’m sure you’ll agree.

Stay away from any services that say they can offer you a hotel or condo in Kailua (a lovely beach community on the windward side of the Island, ideal for whale watching). Zoning laws do not allow hotels or condos in Kailua, so these services are purely once again just after your cash.

Bear in mind that the usual vacation property terms include a clause that means your deposit is non-refundable, so you really need to make the right choice. A decent reservation service will ask you questions, and try to find out from you exactly what you need and are looking for, including such things as what you want do whilst you are there.

The good services will take time to get it right for you, to the extent that they will actually try to dissuade you from a property that you might have chosen, as they know it’s not the right one for you. Don’t take offence, they are doing a good job. Let’s face it a happy customer is often a repeat customer.

Well, I hope that’s helped you a little, use these tips and have a great Hawaii vacation.

You’ve finally decided you and your family on going to take that long awaited dream vacation in Hawaii. You’ve decided that you want to go the vacation rental route for numerous reasons: privacy, comfort, location and cost effectiveness. Next, you probably Googled Oahu Vacation Rentals and are faced with the daunting task of choosing among some 175,000 web sites. Where to begin? Here’s two secrets that will help you make the right choice so you can enjoy your stay in Hawaii to its fullest.

Secret One: Use a reservation service. There are several reasons for this. First, a single property vacation rental listing by owner will severely limit you to the dates that you can take your vacation. Vacation rental properties in Hawaii run nearly 90% occupancy, so unless you know your travel dates six months to a year out the odds are high that their property won’t be available for the travel dates you had in mind. Second, the owner is only concerned with booking their own property so they will extol the virtues of their vacation rental and not mention any of the faults.

Secret Two: Make the right choice of reservation service. Make sure it is locally owned and operated. Websites like vrbo and findrentals (for instance) don’t have a clue about geography, weather, attractions, events and the other necessary information required to give you the property that best fills your needs. For instance, let’s say you want to whale watch but also want to vacation on Oahu. Your reservation service should be able to tell you that you need to stay on the windward side of the island if you want to see the whales. Another tip-off of services to avoid are those that do automated, credit card bookings. Steer clear of these services as this implies they aren’t interested in talking to you, they just want your money. Be wary of sites that have more than 100 properties….there aren’t that many decent selections on Oahu, or any of the other Hawaiian islands, on the market. The more a service exceeds 100 properties, the greater the odds you’ll end up in an overpriced, undesirable vacation rental. Here’s another great hint. If a reservation service states that they have hotels or condos available in Kailua, or will have them soon, choose another service. Since, by zoning law, Kailua does not allow hotels or condos, you should realize that once again, this is a service that wants your money, not your piece of mind. Always ask the reservation service person you are talking to where they are located. Someone based in Las Vegas or Los Angeles won’t have a clue about how to give you the best property for the vacation experience you have in mind.

With the standard vacation rental property terms being no refunds after you’ve paid your deposit, you absolutely want to make sure you make the right choice. A good reservation service will ask you questions about what you want to do and see on your vacation and will actually try and talk you out of a property you had in mind if they don’t think it appropriate to what you had in mind. This is not an attempt to upsell you, it’s more a matter of matching your vacation desires and needs with the perfect choice of vacation rental venue. One vacation rental reservation service that meets all these requirements is Pacific Islands Reservations. They are owned and operated by Ingrid Carvalho, who was born and raised in the islands, as were her parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. She has been serving visitors to Hawaii vacation rental needs since 1996. She currently represents ninety vacation rentals on Oahu and another 90 vacation rentals on Maui, Kauai and the Big Island.
